A few months ago, (months! How did that happen!?) my mom, sister and I spent my sister’s birthday at the Queen Mary Tea Room, which is located just blocks from University Village in Seattle. It was a really lovely long morning, with decadent tea and pastries that made you wish they were four times their size, so I thought that I’d fill you in despite the fact that it’s such a throwback.
Nina and I decided to go against our inner British goddesses and instead embrace more dramatic fashion for the morning. Because wearing a hot pink midi-length skirt feels extra appropriate when you’re having a posh brunch. (Though let’s be real, I love that skirt).
Happy birthday, my wise, beautiful, compassionate sister! (Who just finished her first year of college, by the way).
Inside the tea room, there are hundreds of mismatched china sets and tea options. I’ve decided that having a mismatched tea set is the ultimate in cool. Grandma cool, at least.
And yes, Nina wore a crown — her birthday, remember!
Hope you’re all having a good week! I’m meeting with a few movers tomorrow and starting to donate some of our things in preparation for our move. Eeek! :)
