I’m writing from my brand new desk, which I’m in love with. We’re just about completely unpacked, though there are still curtains and frames just waiting to be hung on our walls. I am excited to share photographs as everything gets finishing touches!
In the meantime, let’s all zip through space and time together back to Hawaii, yeah? These photographs have been begging to be shared.
I’m a seafood girl through and through, so these raw Ahi nachos were unreal. My hands look like they’re ready to pounce. Because they were.
Before boarding our plane on the last day, Tim and I took a detour to the Haleakala Crater, which is located at the end of a long, winding road through the clouds. The drive was surreal and when we got there, it truly felt like we were on another planet.
Apparently, the time to go (if you’re hardcore) is before sunrise, which for us would have meant setting out at 4am. After seeing it later in the afternoon, I have to admit that I’ll probably do the whole shebang and wake up super early next time I get the chance. It’s truly breathtaking!
My only advice is that you bring a sweater. Hawaii was hot during our entire trip, but like I said — the crater is another world!
This is actually not a shave ice — it’s called snow, and it’s delicious! Instead of shaving ice and adding liquid syrup to flavor it afterward, the ice is already flavored, almost like ice cream. Ours was topped with chocolate, condensed milk and caramel. But by this point you’ve been snorkeling your booty off anyways, so why not balance things out? :)
I got gels on my hands and feet before we left, and it was the best decision ever. I’m not usually a manicure girl, but my nails looked flawless for our entire trip. I’m going to be honest with you; I kept the pedicure on for like, a month. It was magical.
On one particularly adventurous day, we went zip lining! I had never been before so I didn’t know what to expect, but it was a blast! I was timid at first, but by the end all I wanted was speed.
Our trip was such a relaxing, memorable way to celebrate this milestone in our lives. I loved getting time to spend with Tim’s family, and feeling totally care-free for a little slice of time before we came back to pack.
Hope y’all are having a good week! I’ll be back soon to share the first stop in our week-long road trip to Austin.
