Shortly after the first of this year, I posted about shifting my morning routine. And I’ve mostly stuck with it! I’m pretty good about writing a short list of goals for the day and I’ve come to treasure that time to focus myself and plan ahead.
But I haven’t been as good at rising early. I’ve read countless articles on the benefits of being an early riser, but it just feels like the last thing that I want to do when my alarm goes off.
So, in a quest for self-improvement, I’m planning to add something to my morning routine that I hope will make a difference.
Each morning, after I drag myself from under the covers and before I make toast and coffee, I’m going to do five sun salutations. Here’s a version similar to the one I’m familiar with.
Sun salutations are like a mini yoga class — they’re full of extensions and controlled movement, so they’re perfect for stretching your body and building strength.
I’m hoping that it will be an energizing, centering addition to my mornings! Want to join?!
