A few months ago, my boyfriend’s parents came and stayed at our apartment for a long weekend while Tim and I were traveling. They enjoyed a beach getaway and house-sat our place, and to be honest, I hardly even noticed that they’d been there when we returned. Everything was clean and sparkling when we dragged our bags in after our long flights.
But in addition to a sweet card, they also left new versions of all of the household necessities that we’d been running low on. There was a brand new bottle of my favorite lavender laundry detergent, dish soap, toilet paper, and a fresh pack of k-cups, all in our favorite brands.
It was such a simple gesture, but it felt amazing to suddenly have everything in-stock, especially after a long vacation! I swear it felt like someone had waved a magic wand. :) I’d highly recommend it next time you’re a house guest!
Do you have any go-to gifts or gestures when you’re staying with friends or family? I’d love to know!
P.S. You can never go wrong with fresh flowers, either. :)
