Our trip to the Northwest felt like the perfect way to rejuvenate before the new year started. We spent our time hiking through the evergreens, relaxing under layers of blankets, and catching up with close friends and family. I worked on no less than three puzzles while I was home, which if you ask me, means a successful holiday break.
All in all, the trip was wonderful (including Christmas and my birthday — and our New Year’s celebration at the Oregon Coast), so I’m happy and ready to take on 2015.
Here are a few snapshots from our trip.
We always go to our friends’ house for a traditional German meal on Christmas Eve, and their dessert assortment never fails to impress. It was begging to be photographed.
The little kid in me still takes birthday wishes seriously.
Blaze, who lives at home with my parents, has completely stolen my heart. I’m that annoying dog parent (sister?), you guys. It’s unavoidable.
I spent a little while putting together these simple bracelets one evening at our friends’ cabin in Florence, Oregon. I’ve been wearing stacked bracelets almost every day lately.
I enjoyed a few hikes and trail runs with my sister, who may have convinced me to run a 10-K with her in a couple of months. What am I thinking?
I had to make time to stop at one of my favorite coffee shops in Seattle before I left. Victrola, you have my heart.
I hope you all had a really wonderful holiday. We flew home on Saturday and I’ve been a tornado of unpacking and laundry ever since.
Now back to my regular blogging schedule. :)
