I woke up bright-eyed and bushy tailed on Saturday. We ate a light, healthy breakfast (which was delicious, but unfortunately not photogenic — frittatas will do that to you) and then headed out for a full day.
These two kitties acted as subtle security guards on the front porch. I am sadly allergic to cats, but these guys lived outside and were sweet company!
Our first stop was Meditation Mount, which is known for having the most expansive view in Ojai. I was most excited for the photography potential. ;)
We walked past the meditation room, careful to keep our volume low…
And headed down the path toward the viewpoint. I stopped along the way to snap a few photographs of the lush surroundings. After just a couple of minutes, the path opened up to this. Isn’t it gorgeous? I felt like I was on top of the world.
You can even see the orange groves in the bottom corners of these photographs!
After an afternoon spent idly strolling through shops and feeding my espresso addiction (my favorite kind of afternoon), we walked to Suzanne’s for dinner.
We’d heard really good things about their food, but by the time we arrived I was mostly just excited for the heat lamps.
Dinner was romantic and delicious — beef short ribs for him, pan-roasted salmon for her — and it was really just a relaxing meal to cap off our weekend. Anywhere that has twinkly lights intertwined with vines gets three bonus points. ;)
Did you have a good weekend? Was it relaxing and slow-paced, or fun and memory-filled?
