Well, it’s happening. Autumn is starting to creep in!
On our walk to the beach on Sunday night, the fog poured in as if we were up the coast in San Francisco. We could hear horns bellowing from ships on the water, but barely see ten feet ahead of ourselves. We walked out onto the boardwalk and were completely immersed. It was eerie and vaguely dystopian, not being able to see the shore twenty yards away.
When the fog pours in, there’s only one solution. Autumn-appropriate clothes, of course!
This outfit encompasses everything I love about fall — cozy plaid shirts, soft leather riding boots, and jackets that manage to go with everything in your closet. I also love the way that this outfit demonstrates one of my fashion philosophies — style is about having an eye for color, cut, and fit, not about price point or brand.
I found this jacket while I was waiting for my friend at the mall when I wandered into Hollister for a few minutes. I don’t think that I’ve shopped at Hollister since junior high, but I was totally impressed by the fit and feel of this jacket!
Oh, and let’s talk about that shirt. A plaid shirt is a staple in every girl’s closet (especially if you’re from the Northwest), and Eddie Bauer just makes them best. I know — usually I mentally reserve Eddie Bauer for my outdoor-loving, super-Seattle parents, but just trust me on this one. They’re soft, they fit well, and they have a million colors. It’s love.
Don’t I just look ready to go duck hunting or something?
P.S. Oh, how things have changed. And a great big thank you to my friend Cory, who shot these photos for me during one chilly sunset by the beach.
