This afternoon, after sneaking in to watch my sister sing at the Senior Assembly, Tim and I drove to Snoqualmie Falls. I hadn’t been in a few years and I was totally stunned by how magnificent it is.
I feel like it’s so easy not to notice how beautiful this world is, but then there are the places that just won’t let you forget.
After we stood in awe for a little while, we decided to get brunch at the Salish Lodge, so that we could continue to the enjoy the view.
Creamy tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons, on an overcast day. Bliss!
The Dining Room at Salish Lodge specializes in sustainable, locally grown food, which is something that I’ve just recently really started to value. Even the honey pot contained honey sourced from their own combs! Unsurprisingly, it was a real treat. I couldn’t stop talking about how “relaxed” I was– sometimes a little getaway to the Northwest is all my heart needs. :)
It’s almost Friday! Tomorrow is graduation day, and we have friends coming to stay with us and cheer Nina on. I can’t wait!
Here’s to a relaxing, memorable weekend.
