Yesterday, after three appointments, countless hours on PadMapper, and plenty of butterflies, we put a hold on a new apartment. We currently live in the heart of LA, in a sweet, but tiny apartment. I’m sentimentally attached– I won’t lie. There are so many memories attached to these 600 square feet! But ultimately, we don’t know how much longer we’ll be living this Southern California lifestyle, so we decided to embrace a change.
The first two apartments we saw were nice, but they weren’t quite right. The vibe was off, or the finishings were lacking. And then, during our third apartment tour, it all fell into place. Crown molding, an open kitchen with more counter space than I know what to do with, and– get this– our own washer and dryer. I fantasize about just throwing our clothes in without setting a timer or hauling a basket across the complex. What luxury! :)
The new place is beautiful, and for us, it means a whole new lifestyle. We joked that we’re going to have to buy beach cruisers and learn to surf. To say I’m excited is an understatement– in some ways, it’s all a bit of a dream come true. I’ve already started daydreaming about shopping for things like this and this to furnish our new home.
Of course, now starts the not-so-glamorous part of all of this. Packing. I’d love to share a few posts about moving over the next few weeks. Keep your eyes peeled. ;)
