After a long, red-eye flight, two trains and a cab, I have arrived in New York City! I am beyond thrilled to be here. Our hotel, The Pierre, is truly beautiful (we have actual lift operators!) and I feel a little bit like a jet-lagged Eloise. I don’t know how, but the stars aligned on this one. Here are a few photos from today.
I love the beautiful, old buildings that fill this city. This is the view from our hotel room. (Can I just move in?)
Our key card, which is pretty enough to be stationery.
Fresh, delicious fruit upon arrival.
A heavenly bed goes a long way, doesn’t it?
I was surprised at how emotional I felt visiting the 9/11 Memorial. Sad, of course– but also just incredibly proud of our country.
The only thing left on the agenda tonight is dinner at a French restaurant. I can’t say I know much about French food, but I get to dress up, so I’m happy.
I’m hoping to stop by over the next few days and share some of my favorite packing tips. I love fashion, but I do understand the beauty of carry-on only travel, after all. Talk soon!
PS. One of my favorite blogs wrote a funny (and especially appropriate) post today about NYC living. You can check it out here, if you wish.
