I believe that the most stylish people I know are able to shop just about anywhere and come up with an ensemble that looks original, trendy, and classic all at the same time. You know the friend– the one who’s blouse you fawn over only to find out that it’s from Eddie Bauer? She’s mastered this. Designer labels, Target finds… it’s all about how you put it together.
That said, there is one designer item that I lust over… and it’s the Burberry trench. There’s something about the classic silhouette that seems unparalleled in the fashion industry. It’s polished, ladylike, and it matches everything. I’d be willing to bet that it’s even pretty cozy. Basically, it’s perfect. For that reason, I have made a promise to myself that I won’t buy a camel-colored trench until it is the trench.
But I love trench coats! I refuse to retire that fashion category altogether. So instead of camel, I went for fuscia!
I purchased this coat thinking it would be the perfect occasional statement piece, but I have to admit that it’s been one of my most-worn spring items. Here’s my advice: when you think to yourself “I just don’t know if I could pull it off…” buy it, and rock it. The best way to pull something off is just to go for it.
