Have you read “The Husband’s Secret,” written by Liane Moriarty? I just finished reading it a few weeks ago and it is still on my mind.
When the novel starts, it seems to be a character study on typical suburban life in Australia. It doesn’t take long for the story to shift and unravel, revealing plot twists that (despite some serious curiosity) I was unable to see coming. Don’t let the flowery title and cover fool you– Liane Moriarty has woven together the lives of complex, provocative characters. And then there’s her commentary! There were moments when her assessment of the character’s decisions, motivations, and feelings was so spot on that my mouth fell open.
My only recommendation is that you pick up two copies– one for you, and one for your best friend, so that you can gossip and guess together as you read.
